Accessibility statement

How we make this website easy to use, and how to tell us when it isn’t.

Using this website

Find A Way: Psychological Services CIC runs this website. We work with families, carers and professionals with many different needs, and we want everyone to be able to find information and ask for support here, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

We have designed the website so that you can:

  • zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen
  • use every page with only a keyboard, and always see which link or button you are on
  • skip straight to the main content of each page
  • pause the moving water on the homepage, or stop all movement with your device’s reduce-motion setting
  • find your way through longer pages using headings and an “On this page” list

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the international standard for accessible websites. We check the website against it as we build, but we have not yet tested every page in full, so we cannot yet say that it meets the standard completely.

We know that:

  • we have not yet tested the website with screen readers, such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS, or with voice control
  • if you send the enquiry form with JavaScript turned off, you will see a confirmation page from Basin, the service that delivers our form, which we do not control
  • our social media pages are on other websites, which we do not control

Tell us about a problem

If you find part of this website hard to use, or you need information from it in another format, please email us at hello@findaway.org. It helps us to know:

  • the page you were on
  • what you were trying to do, and what went wrong
  • the device, browser or assistive technology you were using, if you know

You can also email us to ask about support instead of using the enquiry form.

Technical information

The website relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript to work with your browser and any assistive technology you use. Its pages can be read without JavaScript, and the enquiry form can still be sent.

How we test this website

We check each change ourselves in the browser engines used by Chrome, Edge and Safari, at phone, tablet and desktop sizes. We check keyboard use, visible focus, zoom and reduced motion, and automated tests check the main controls every time the website changes. This is our own testing: the website has not been independently audited.
